1. it’s oren’s birthday!

2. i practiced spanish with albert again.  today he learned the words “candy” and “candy corn.”  very useful!  but he wanted to talk about halloween so that when he visited the united states he would understand our culture….yup, halloween sums it up. 

3. sometimes it helps me to remember that lots of my favorite people are also dead.  like john lennon, george harrison, borges, albert einstein, edgar allen poe.  also i didnt know this but hemingway killed himself.  apparently this is common knowledge.  anyway, he’s a really great writer and so is sylvia plath, who also killed herself.  so they make me feel a little better too.
